Academics is one of our three pillars. In order to be an active Hermana, you are required to complete a minimum of 10 academic hours and attend either a hosted HaU or on campus workshop. You may complete 10 academic hours by attending study hours, studying with Hermanas outside of scheduled study sessions, and attending our quarterly HUG events.
What are study hours?
Study hours consist of attending one or more scheduled study sessions held by one of our Steering members throughout the week.
For those who cannot attend scheduled study sessions you have the option of studying with an active Hermana. After studying with your active Hermana make sure you keep track of the time that you have studied and inform our academic chair so that she may record your hours.
You are also given the option of attending an Hermanas Unidas Gathering (HUG) Event which are events that allow you to receive academic hours.
Lastly, HaU holds informative workshops throughout the quarter, which may help you fulfill your workshop requirement for Active Hermana standing. For those of you who may not be able to attend you can also attend a UCI campus hosted workshop which also fulfills your requirement.
